Weekly Photo #10 – Exploded Pepsi Can
by Peter on Mar.07, 2010, under Photography, Stuff
Anyone who knows me will understand the devastation in this photo. This wasn’t the only can who suffered an agonising death from being “chilled” a little too much. Why is it worthy? Well other than having nothing better to post as it’s been a busy transition into my new place, this was about the only photo I took all week that stood out.
Weekly Photo #9 – Crimson Rosella
by Peter on Feb.28, 2010, under Photography, Stuff
The crimson rosella are always interested in what you’ve got to feed them. These were taken down the South Coast at the caravan. We were just sitting around getting a fire going reading some Ralph mags and this bird came up so see what was happening. He hung around long enough to fire off a few close up shots but we didn’t have anything to feed him.
This pic really shows the power of my new Pentax K-X with low light and high ISO settings. It was taken at 7pm with ISO3200 handheld at 1/20th second, whilst there is a little grain I think it’s still a decent shot.
Weekly Photo #8 – Wine Rack
by Peter on Feb.21, 2010, under Photography, Stuff
Dad picked up a wine rack off ebay, put it together and filled it with bottles. I like the coloured caps on the bottles and the repetition of them lined up.
Weekly Photo #7 – Sugarloaf Point Lighthouse
by Peter on Feb.14, 2010, under Photography, Stuff
Taken on our trip to Smiths Lake, we went swimming at Seal Rocks and perched on top of the hill is this massive lightbulb to warn the ships of the rocks and reef that lies beneath the water.
Weekly Photo #6 – Victoria Bridge
by Peter on Feb.07, 2010, under Photography, Stuff
This photo has been created using high dynamic range photography (HDR). This has been my first successful time shooting for HDR and the results turned out impressive. The image shows the underneath of the Victoria Bridge crossing the Nepean River. Notice the detail in the pilons and how the graffiti shows up.
Ross and I went down to the Nepean River Weir for this photo adventure. It has been raining a fair bit lately and the weir was overflowing. As we walked along the banks Ross spotted a Eastern Water Dragon. I thought it was pretty amazing to see such an animal in this type of environment as there was plenty of rubbish and pollution in the area.
