I’ve been interested in computers from back in the days of 28.8k modems. As the industry progresses I’m constantly keeping up to date with technology with different software and hardware requirements, funded by my weekend job at the local hardware store.
My electives throughout high school were Design & Technology and Multimedia where I first entered the world of digital video. I immediately started playing with Adobe Premiere and came up up with quite a few funny home made videos. This also sparked an interest in photography where I received an award for first in Year 12.
After finishing high school I spent six months restoring a 1978 Toyota Landcruiser as well as teaching myself the depths of Adobe Premiere and the creative suite mainly Photoshop and After Effects through online tutorials and textbooks.
In 2005 I began CertIV Digital Media at Mt Druitt TAFE and learnt more about design and video editing. Throughout the course I’ve submitted a variety of assignments and became familiar with a range of software from the Adobe Suite.
In 2007 I completed my Diploma in Digital Media with Distinction!
After finishing TAFE I obtained an Australian Business Number (ABN) and was doing freelance work in the field of video editing and website production. I’ve adapted my skills to Final Cut Pro and have had the opportunity to work with clients such as Telstra, Mini, Raggs and the Opera House through the help of The Milkbar.
Using my ABN, I’ve been building and repairing computers for numerous people with experience installing and setting up networks for personal and business environments.
In 2008 I got accepted into university. I’m studying to become a high school teacher with a double degree: Bachelor of Teaching/Bachelor of Design & Technology at Newcastle University.
In 2009 I moved into a share house in Newcastle to continue my studies.
In 2010 I began the weekly photo challenge to motivate myself to take more photos. I also built a food dehydrator and an LED desk lamp as part of my degree and did my first 4 week prac in a high school.
