We were watching an episode of Doctor Who when we started hearing sirens. 1 cop, 2 ambos, 3 fire trucks and a police rescue truck went flying passed our house and I had to go find out what was going on. I felt kind of bad taking these photos but at the same time I felt like a newspaper photographer getting in on the action. I didn’t get too close as there were plenty of emergency service people doing their thing but took this shot at the start of the street capturing the smoke and lights.
Here’s a fluorescent light bulb. I like it, it’s pretty sharp taken with the 50mm prime. The second shot is a bit more interesting, it’s actually the shadows from my window projected onto the wall.
To get things back on track I snapped this shot the other night as I was trying to get through a frustrating assignment. Taken using the 70-300mm using the macro feature. I had to use a small aperture with a long exposure to get a decent amount of depth of field. It’s been heavily cooked in Adobe Lightroom to give it more punch, I think my camera was over exposing a little as well with the 300mm lens.
