Samsung HMX-U10 Unboxing Review

Photo Ability

Here are some sample photos taken with the Samsung U10. As you can see with a tiny sensor there is plenty of noise/grain and the details are lost as the dynamic range is pretty narrow. The fixed focus also is an issue, it’s neither close up (the bird) or infinity (the tree/sky). This just reinforces that more megapixels does not equate to better quality photos!

Here a comparison photo showing the difference between my HTC Touch Pro camera and the Samsung U10 camera.

Photo taken with HTC Touch Pro's camera of 3.2 megapixel camera

Photo taken with Samsung U10's 10 megapixel camera

Yet another example of how bad this cameras photo function is. Both photos were taken under the same lighting conditions with no post processing other than resized for web.

Backlight ON/OFF Sample Photos

Below are some sample shots showing the difference of the backlight feature. This feature is intended to be used to obtain detail in objects that are infront of a bright light such as the sun or bright lights.
